Minus Shirokov, Voinov - in the mind. SKA continues to renew its roster With Shirokov they did not renew the contract, everything is strange with Voinov. SKA (SKA St. Petersburg) Ska players with numbers

In order to keep competition and a decent result on the court in the team and on the bench, the management of hockey clubs is doing everything possible to get rid of unnecessary players and buy others instead. This also affected SKA, which plans to join the fight for the championship title and not leave their plans until the very last confrontation on the ice. The main backbone, of course, they have remained in the same place, but there are also several new acquisitions that are worth talking about in more detail.

A bit of history

The hockey club in question was founded in St. Petersburg in 1946. Since that moment, they have always remained only in the major leagues in the national championship in this sport. To date, they have been able to win the Gagarin Cup twice. This happened initially following the results of the 2014/2015 draw and then one more season later - in 2016/2017. Last season 2017/2018, they literally stopped one step away, as they lost in the semi-final stage to CSKA, having received the third line in the end.

At the same time, according to the results of the season, they set a record for achieving 20 wins in a row in the regular season, as well as a similar number of wins at the start of the championship. Previously, the specified record was held by Avangard.

Until 2008, the Yubileiny sports complex acted as the home ice arena, in the stands of which a little more than 7 thousand hockey fans could come. Now they hold their meetings in the Ice Palace, which has a capacity of 12,300 spectators. There are times when matches are taken out to completely different venues. So it was in October 2009, when SKA played against Ak Bars in the Lithuanian capital at the Siemens Arena. Almost a year later, the St. Petersburg team played with Moscow Spartak in the capital of Switzerland, Davos, on the ice of the Vaillant Arena.

coaching staff

For two years, SKA was led by German coach Oleg Znarok. After the end of the 2017/2018 season, Ilya Vorobyov was chosen as the head, who took up the position from May 1, 2018. He is also the coach of the Russian team, and before that his coaching career took place at Metallurg Magnitogorsk.

It is worth noting that Vorobyov has dual citizenship - Russian and German. And he himself until 2010 performed at a professional level. His last team was the Frankfurt Lions, in which he spent almost 4 seasons. It was from this hockey club that he began his performances in 1993.

Main cast

The main representatives in any team are considered to be the main players who constantly perform on the ice and try to achieve the maximum result. But only they cannot play all the time, as they are exhausted from match to match or even get injured. To make this happen extremely rarely, there is also a bench, reserve players capable of replacing them at a decent level. It is worth talking about each of them in more detail, since this will give an answer to the question of who will play for SKA in the 2018/2019 season.

Goalkeepers

Always the main emphasis in the team is on goalkeepers. The number of own goals conceded will depend on the quality of their game on the ice. If there are a lot of them, the attack will have to try to bring the result of the confrontation to the desired level.

There are three players among the main keepers of SKA:

  • Nikita Bogdanov. He spent most of the matches in the VHL, as he had a two-way contract. Once in 2014/2015, he was announced in the team from St. Petersburg, but he never got match practice. Let's see what happens in this draw, if, of course, he gets such an opportunity to be on the ice arena.
  • Igor Shesterkin. Despite the fact that he is only 22 years old, at the age of 16 he ended up in the capital's Spartak. At first, he was not given a place in the base, but a match in the season is already worth a lot at that age. Already in 2014 he ended up in St. Petersburg. He was originally declared for the playoffs, but he never managed to run out onto the ice. Every year the number of exits to the gate became greater, and the last two draws he spent more than half of the meetings in the regular season. Apparently, he is not yet ready for the playoffs, but he still managed to play a few matches for his team. His hitting percentage never dropped below 90%. But recently it has risen to almost 94%.
  • Magnus Hellberg. Since the two goalkeepers are very young and do not have enough experience in the KHL, the SKA management decided to make an acquisition in the form of a representative of Sweden. Hellberg was in the KHL for the first time last season and Kunlun was chosen as the club. For the "red star" he played 51 matches, that is, almost no confrontation in the regular season could do without him. At the same time, the percentage of repulsed washers was almost 93%. This is a decent result in a team that could not make it to the playoffs. Now he will have to prove himself in the St. Petersburg squad in order to gain a foothold in the base. He already had to play against Kunlun, where he only conceded 1 goal in the entire match.

From this it can be seen that without high-quality protection, it will be problematic to play at the gate. The SKA management will have to count on the young players, as well as on the newly acquired keeper, who will need time to prove himself in real confrontations on the ice, and not in friendly matches. In the latter they played 7 matches in August and conceded only 6 goals in their own net. This is more than just a worthy result. If you continue to conquer opponents at the same pace, they will be able to make an excellent bid for the championship in the draw.

Defenders

The number of goals conceded will never depend only on the goalkeeper of the team. It is necessary to pay attention, including to the defense, among which there is a sufficient number of important players who build the game on their own and on the opponent. Some of the defenders have been playing for the St. Petersburg team for a long time, but there are also several secondary and newcomers who previously played for other clubs, including those in the lower division. None of them can be left aside, since most likely they will be in at least a few confrontations of the next draw on the ice arena for SKA.

  • Roman Rukavishnikov. From the age of majority, he played for Atlant near Moscow, where he reached the level of the main defender. But at the end of the 2014/2015 season, he moved to SKA. Until the last draw, he did not fly out of the main clip, playing, including in the playoffs, where the St. Petersburg team made their way. But the 2017/2018 season did not work out for him. Not only did he only play 13 games in the regular season, but he did without a playoff round. Will he have enough health to play for the team now.
  • Another representative of Sweden (together with the goalkeeper) is David Rundblad. He also appeared in the KHL only last season, but immediately staked out a place in defense. If in the regular season he was almost constantly seen on the court, where he additionally recorded 2 goals in his name, then in the playoffs he practically did not shine (2 matches and not a single goal). It's time for him to wedge in more among all the other defencists.
  • A bilateral contract was signed with Yegor Rykov (also the MHL), since he just recently turned 21 years old. At the same time, he was already able to play three draws, where he almost did not remain on the bench. The puck from him was almost never seen, with the exception of the last season, but here at the gates of the hockey club he plays very decently. No wonder he spent every playoff matchup, where SKA stopped at the ½ final stage.
  • Mikhail Tikhonov. This player very often travels to various KHL clubs, as he was able to visit the ranks of Neftekhimik, Amur and earlier SKA. But he almost never got match practice. He spent most of his time at a lower level in the VHL. But still, at the age of 22, it is high time to climb the career ladder, which he does extremely unsuccessfully. It is unlikely that he will be seen at all on the ice because of his results.
  • For a long time, Dinar Khafizullin has been playing in the ranks of the St. Petersburg squad, starting in 2013/2014. He immediately joined the main clip of defensive players and does not leave this place until now. In addition to excellent defense during the regular season, he is able to record several goals scored and assistants in his name, which helps the attacking line well. He demonstrated this several times earlier and in the playoffs. The leadership expects a similar result from him in the current draw.
  • Will have to decide the fate of the Swede Patrick Hersley after the end of this season. After all, his contract ends. This suggests that he will have to show himself at a good level on the ice so that at 32 years old he will not be overboard. If you look at the last draw, where he fully played for SKA after moving from Lokomotiv Yaroslavl, then he retains decent chances. After all, 14 goals were recorded in his name, which is almost a record for a defender. He was able to distinguish himself in the playoffs for the St. Petersburg squad, where he did not miss a single confrontation.
  • Anton Belov. The player has plenty of experience, as during his professional career he managed to play in many teams of the Continental Hockey League. Since the 2014/2015 season, he has been playing for SKA and is not going to leave the position of the defender in the main clip. And this despite the fact that he was already 32 years old. All this time, in addition to the regular season, it is also not abandoned during the playoffs. Yes, and in the attack, he helps very well, writing down assistants in his name, and even scores into the opponent's goal.
  • We can say that Vladislav Valentsov is simply listed in SKA. He spends most of his time in the VHL. So far, he has never entered the ice rink for the St. Petersburg hockey club in official meetings. Perhaps, at the age of 21, he still has little experience and skill, to which he is selected every draw.
  • We cannot leave aside the young and ambitious Vladislav Gavrikov, who last year moved to St. Petersburg from Lokomotiv Yaroslavl, where it all began. He easily wedged into the defensive line and practically did not miss a single match of the regular season and playoffs. At the same time, he is constantly expected to score goals, where he has experience and a foundation for development.
  • The defender Artem Zub from Amur can be called a decent purchase. Let him almost never move to someone else's half of the court, which is reflected in the zero number of goals scored (on average, less than 1 hit on the opponent's goal on ice in the match), but he provides worthy assistance to the goalkeeper.
  • After a sufficient amount of time, first at Atlanta, and then at Salavat Yulaev, Andrey Zubarev joined the ranks of St. Petersburg in 2015. But recently, he began to leave the bench less and less, which is reflected in his results. Perhaps his career growth is strictly on the decline, as this season he will celebrate his 32nd birthday.

Not without acquisitions, despite such a colorful line-up of defenders. As such, one can name Vasily Tokranov. For the next few years, this particular player will be in the ranks of the St. Petersburg squad. The contract with him was concluded until 2022. The management was able to lure him away from Ak Bars, in which he played for the past 10 seasons. By the way, it was in Ak Bars that he first played at a professional level at the age of 19. Since 2015/2016, he has not disappeared from the eyes of fans and hockey fans, constantly going out on the ice. There is a possibility that he will play well for SKA and at the same time upset his opponent more than once. It is worth noting that in the last three draws he has accumulated 18 goals scored along with the playoffs, which is an excellent result for a defensive player. You can even say that this is a player on two flanks, where he shows experience and skill.

Another acquisition can be called Alexander Yukseev. It's just hard to imagine him among the main players. A bilateral contract was signed with him and most likely he will spend most of the season in the VHL. Previously, he played in Avtomobilist, Severstal, Amur, and in the 2010/2011 season he was listed in SKA. But almost always he remained on the sidelines, in the background. In the KHL, the maximum that they will give him is to play a few matches as a substitute, nothing more.

Decided to leave "Admiral" defender Artem Zemchenok, where he scored an average of 2-3 goals per season. Its main advantage lies in the small number of penalty minutes scored during the year. In 30 matches in 2017/2018, he only has 4 minutes on the bench, outside the game. It will be easier for him to play for the St. Petersburg team, which will force him to concentrate on excellent defense and help the players in the attacking line.

Attack

You can never leave aside the players of the attacking plan. Much depends on them in the final result after the match. And if a sufficient number of pucks are thrown into the opponent's goal, the defenders can relax along with the goalkeeper. It is necessary to mention every striker who builds the history of the hockey club, as well as newcomers who will try to wedge into the main clip and not fall out of it for a long time.

  • Viktor Tikhonov. He spent literally one season at Severstal, after which he was lured to the St. Petersburg squad, where he has been performing since 2011/2012. It does not fall out of the main clip and is not collected. Almost no regular season match, as well as the playoffs, can do without it. In the latter, he scored 3 goals in 12 team encounters, completing 1 assist.
  • For several seasons, Nikolai Prokhorkin is also considered the main player in the attack. That's just the last playoffs he played unsuccessfully - only 4 matches and 1 goal. The regular season turned out to be almost the best in terms of performance. In 47 meetings, he recorded 16 goals in his name, eventually reaching 16.5% of the realized shots (the best career indicator). Now they are expecting better results from him.
  • Sergey Plotnikov. After the 2014/2015 playoffs, when the striker played for Lokomotiv Yaroslavl, several clubs looked after him at once due to his excellent goal-scoring drive (25% of shots made). But nevertheless he ended up in St. Petersburg, where he performs to this day. The main team cannot do without him yet, including in the playoffs.
  • Denis Orlovich-Grudkov can be considered as a reserve player. In the last draw, he had only 2 matches on the ice rink, and a year earlier, 7 matches in the regular season for Amur from Khabarovsk. He spends most of his time in the VHL. Most likely, he will continue his performance there, since for now his experience and level of play on the ice will not be enough to create serious competition for those players who are available on the attack line.
  • The representative of Finland, Jarno Koskiranta, initially chose Sibir as the main club, where he played 2 seasons. In 2015, he moved to St. Petersburg and continues to play at a decent level in attack. He did not leave the main clip in a single draw, including at the playoff stage. At the same time, his best performance in attack falls precisely on the last rounds, when the team is striving for the championship. True, it would not be out of place for him to correct the situation in assists, as he tries to do everything on his own, without the participation of colleagues in the team. This can be called its minus, the correction of which will improve the style of play and the performance of the hockey club as a whole.
  • Evgeny Ketov in the KHL at first could not decide who to play for on the court. But then he nevertheless settled on Severstal, where he moved in 2010. After another 3 years, he ends up in SKA, where he performs until the current draw. He needs to play with dignity, especially since the contract is designed for the next two years. In the regular season, not only goals are constantly expected from him, but also a sufficient number of assistants. But here the playoff rounds are held with varying degrees of success. He can skate on the ice without a single puck to his name at all. This was the case, for example, in 2015/2016 and 2017/2018. In addition, during this time he has only 1 assist available. He has something to think about if at 34 he wants to continue his professional career.
  • Going after Dynamo Moscow, Maxim Karpov got a place at the base. But last season he had a very small percentage of the implementation of shots - only 4.8%. This is a very low figure, which may push the St. Petersburg leadership to part with him. In the capital, he managed to play much more effectively in attack, which led to a large number of points scored for goals scored and assists. And the percentage of sales did not fall below 9-10 percent.
  • In 2013, Ilya Kablukov moved to St. Petersburg. From that moment on, he almost never misses not only the regular season, but also the playoffs. Its main disadvantage is its weak attacking power. He scored a maximum of 5 goals in a season, and in the last round of the playoffs, not a single goal at all against an opponent. Apparently it was not in vain that the team decided to strengthen it in the attack.
  • Silver medalist of the MHL Alexander Dergachev cannot yet get into the permanent basis of SKA. In 2015, he was drafted by the Los Angeles Kings with the 74th number, but this did not bring any subsequent result. It happened after the silver medals of the World Championship. Last season, he played 31 matches in Spartak Moscow, where he scored 6 goals and registered 5 assistants in his name. Let's see what he can show in the current draw. After all, it's time to go to the main clip in the KHL.
  • Pavel Datsyuk plays most of the matches for St. Petersburg. His main advantage is that he tries to score a lot and make a lot of assists. So, last season he had 8 goals and 27 assistants. Almost in identical proportions, he recorded the 2016/2017 draw - 12 and 22, respectively. That is, Datsyuk is an indispensable player for the rest of the attack, which allows him to keep constantly on the edge. The main thing is that after the expiration of the contract (April 30, 2019) he does not decide to change the team, since there will most likely be a huge number of offers.
  • Nikita Gusev has a lot of experience behind him. After joining SKA, he can still be considered almost the best attacking player. How else to put it, when last season he had 29 goals and 45 assists, along with the playoff stage. And earlier in the draw, he chalked up 31 goals and 63 assistants. Few people can boast of the best performance at the moment, even in the entire tournament. Due to this, it can be cited as an example for youngsters and beginners who are just joining the ranks of the St. Petersburg squad.
  • Having not found a place for himself in the main cage of the hockey club from St. Petersburg, Svyatoslav Grebenshchikov goes to Sochi, where he spent 33 meetings and scored 4 goals not in the full season. He urgently needs to correct his statistics so as not to remain in the shadow of all other SKA hockey players, including newcomers. Otherwise, the only place available to him will be on the bench.
  • At the age of 19, Alexander Barabanov got into the team. If at first he was almost not given the opportunity to enter the court and prove himself in the KHL, then for three seasons in a row the main clip has turned him on constantly. He copes well with attacks, which translates into quality goals. So it provides excellent chances for teammates to excel.

No matter how strong the attack, it also needs to be strengthened by attracting new players to the team. Sufficiently serious striker Nail Yakupov can be called. He started with the youth "Reactor", after which he almost immediately left to conquer the expanses of Canada. He originally played in the Sarnia Sting. But in the same season he came to the Russian Neftekhimik, where he scored 9 goals in 22 matches. They became interested in the NHL, where he originally got to Edmonton. Immediately became the top scorer and sniper among the newcomers of the tournament. At the same time, he became the best in the attack of the Canadian team. But apparently he was hooked by star disease and the indicators began to fall from year to year. Then he already played in the "St. Louis Blues" and "Colorado" for one season. In the last contract with him was not extended, and then a decision was made to return to Russia. While the contract with it is signed for one year. Everything will depend on the results, which so far are not entirely encouraging. After all, he played 350 games in 6 NHL seasons, which is one of the worst indicators of attack players (the first number in the Draft) since 1963.

He lured SKA and another worthy player to him. This is Oleg Li, who played for Amur Khabarovsk for several seasons in a row. Although he never scored in the playoffs in five matches, in the regular season he recorded 10 goals and 19 assistants in 54 confrontations in his name. Previously, he also played in "Atlanta" and "Admiral" for one season. Looking at his results, it was the last years that became the peak of his career growth. So, for St. Petersburg, he must play at a height with a large number of points on the attack line.

CSKA ward Andrei Kuzmenko decided to continue his professional career in the hockey club of the same name. He is only 22 years old, and has already spent almost 3 seasons in the main team of the army, where he played, including in the playoffs. That is, he has gained enough experience here to upset his opponents on the court. Last season was his best since the start, as he scored 13 goals in the regular season with 15.3% of shots and 4 goals in the playoffs with his maximum 16.7% of shots. The figures are more than decent for his age group.

One more replenishment - Alexey Kruchinin. Once he already played for the St. Petersburg squad - in the 2011/2012 season he played 8 matches in which he scored 1 goal against the opponent. After that, he constantly traveled to Lokomotiv, then to Yugra, until he settled on Tractor. The last club has 4 complete draws with enough goals scored and assistants. He especially pleased the fans in the 2017/2018 playoffs, where in 16 matches he scored 5 goals with an 18.5% shot conversion rate. In addition, there were also 8 assists. So in St. Petersburg, he will definitely not be a hindrance on the ice during his performances in the regular season.

He lured SKA and Alexei Byvaltsev to him, who spent several seasons with Amur. More attention to him appeared after the expired drawing. Indeed, in 56 games played, he scored 19 goals against opponents and 24 assists. Every year, his performance only improves, and the percentage of shots made has almost tripled in general. It's time to play well in St. Petersburg, so that Amur, along with the rest of the squad, bite their elbows.

From the presented list, we see that the leadership of SKA has made the main emphasis on the line of attack. A lot of new players have appeared here, who are certainly able to create competition, and, therefore, to show themselves well on the ice arena. But first they need to play with all the other hockey players, and only then we'll look at their results. Already from the first match, it will be possible to draw some conclusions regarding the cardinal renewal of the forwards in the team from St. Petersburg.

SKA match against Jokerit at the N.G. Puchkova in the Youtube player

New season - new army intrigue. The world of the KHL has ceased to be unipolar. Now there are two big forces in the league - SKA and CSKA. About which of the two troops is more powerful, one can argue until hoarseness, despite the fact that in the match for the Opening Cup, the Petersburgers won 4:2. Bookmakers give a slight advantage to Muscovites, fans, according to various polls, believe that Petersburgers are cooler, while the opinions of hockey experts are equally divided.

There are two main advantages for SKA in this duel - teamwork and a coach. Oleg Znarok is a top coach who has already built a golden team, the backbone of which has been preserved. In the capital's army, there is a new team and a new, not very experienced mentor.

Of course, it is also worth mentioning the Neva minus. Yes, the backbone was kept, but the super-bunch of forwards Shipachev - Dadonov, who brought SKA two Gagarin Cups, was not kept. Vadim and Yevgeny, who for a long time determined the face of the army attack, left for the ocean.

Now double demand with prim - Pavel Datsyuk and Ilya Kovalchuk. The first due to injuries missed the decisive part of the last playoffs, the second sat on his suitcases all summer, but decided to postpone his departure to the NHL until next year. So, it is very likely that for both superstars this season is the last in St. Petersburg, so the fans, do not miss the opportunity to enjoy the moment so that you have something to tell your grandchildren about later.

Dimensional center forward Sergei Kalinin, who is able to play on the flank, is, of course, no replacement for Shipachev in terms of creativity. This power hockey player is similar in style to Jarno Koskiranta. Alas, the brigades of the majority, which the SKA was famous for, will lose in showiness and efficiency.

Meanwhile, the goalkeeper's line, with the exception of Ivannikov, who went to Tolyatti to receive playing practice for the third number, remained the same. Apparently, in the regular season, Mikko Koskinen and Igor Shesterkin will again get approximately equal time, but in the playoffs, Znarok will bet on one. Most likely, in a smooth championship, with an eye on the Olympics, we will more often see a Russian on the ice, and in the Gagarin Cup - a Finn proven by two trophies.

As for the defensive line of the Petersburgers, it, in contrast to the attack, has intensified. The team was replenished by the defender of the Russian national team Vladislav Gavrikov, as well as the skillful right-handed Swede David Rundblad. Today, Znarok has a dozen defenders at his disposal - despite the fact that you can play in three pairs. Khafizullin, Zub, Rukavishnikov and Rykov will have to fight for a place in the "base" or a trade awaits one of them.

SKA transfers in the 2017-2018 season

Defender Vladislav Gavrikov and forward Sergei Kalinin became the main acquisitions of the army before the season, and the departure of forwards Vadim Shipachyov and Yevgeny Dadonov to the NHL were the most significant losses.

Acquisitions: to Lysenkov (Spartak), from Rundblad (Zurich, Switzerland), from Gavrikov (Lokomotiv), n D. Kvartalnov (CSKA), n V. Komarov (Lada), n Kalinin ( Toronto, NHL), n Karpov (Dynamo M)

Losses: to Ivannikov (Lada), s Yudin, n V. Komarov (both Spartak), n Shipachev (Vegas, NHL), n Dadonov (Florida, NHL), n Moses (Rochester ", AHL)

The SKA club last season became the bronze medalist of the Continental Cup, having lost to the CSKA club in the Conference Final. That is why in 2018-2019 the HC headquarters decided to change its composition in order to increase the club's chances of winning.

New head coach

For the last two seasons the team was led by Oleg Znarok. After the failure in the KHL in 2017-2018, the SKA management did not renew the contract with Oleg Valeryevich, and Znarok himself was not eager to stay at the club, citing fatigue and an uncomfortable atmosphere for working in a team. At the same time, he left the post of coach of the Russian national hockey team.

Since May 1, 2018, both the club and the national team have been headed by Ilya Vorobyov, a young coach who previously worked at Metallurg Magnitogorsk. Despite his age (and he is only 43 years old), Vorobyov has extensive coaching experience, which he took over from his father. He began his independent career in 2010 in the Loko youth team, then joined Lokomotiv in the VHL. He came to Magnitogorsk in 2012 as an assistant to the head coach, and in the middle of the 2015-2016 season he unexpectedly headed the club. Vorobyov has won two Gagarin Cups, as well as the withdrawal of his wards to the playoffs in 2017.

Goalkeepers

Success in the tournament depends not only on the field players, but also on the person who protects the goal. For 2018-2019, three goalkeepers are announced in the HC.

  • Alexey Melnichuk. The youngest goalkeeper, he is only 20 years old. Melnychuk plays mainly in the VHL, but in the last championship he was called up to the main team twice, and in one of the games he won. The contract with Alexei Melnichuk was extended by the club management for 2 years (until 2019-2020).
  • Igor Shesterkin. 22 years old, a graduate of the Wings of the Soviets. He has been playing in the SKA system since 2014. He led his teammates to victory more than once: the champion of Russia and the winner of the Gagarin Cup in 2017, the bronze medalist of the Russian championship last year, the winner of the Olympic Games in 2018. He plays in the playoffs as the second goalkeeper.
  • Magnus Hellberg. A new member of the team, he joined HC SKA in 2018 and replaced Mikko Koskinen. The most experienced of the three goalies, he has a 93% batting percentage.

Defenders

The team has always been proud of its defensive players, but in the 2018-2019 season, there have been changes in their ranks. Who managed to lure HC into their ranks?

  • Vasily Tokranov. He came from Ak Bars, where he spent the last 10 seasons. The club's management and fans have high hopes for him, because Tokranov can play on two flanks and scores goals well. In the last three draws, he has 18 goals, which is very good for a defender.
  • Artem Zemchenko. He played for the Vladivostok "Admiral". Sufficiently experienced, the HC headquarters liked the stable game by the rules. In the 2017-2018 games, he played 30 matches and was on the penalty box for only 4 minutes.
  • Alexander Yukseev will play for SKA in the VHL this season. Previously, he was part of the Severstal, Avtomobilist and Amur teams.

The headquarters also places great hopes on the "old men". In general, the defense of SKA looks like this.

forwards

It is on the line of attack that the leadership is betting this season. There are new players among the forwards.

  • Nail Yakupov. Only 24 years old, but he already has the title of bronze and silver medalist of the World Youth Championship. Played in Canada for the last 4 seasons. They do not have high hopes for Yakupov, so they signed a contract with him for only a year.
  • Oleg Li moved to SKA from Amur Khabarovsk. This player, judging by the statistics of recent meetings, is at the peak of his career, so bets are placed on him.
  • Andrey Kuzmenko. This striker is only 22 years old, he came from CSKA, in which he played in the main team and took part in the playoffs. Last year, the effectiveness of his work in the regular season was 15.3% (13 goals scored). He was a member of the Russian Olympic team in 2017.
  • Alexey Kruchinin. Returns to the team after 6 years of traveling to different clubs. Last season, his performance of the game was 5 goals in 16 games, which is very good for a playoff player. Moved to SKA from Traktor.
  • Alexey Byvaltsev. A young, but quite promising striker, who has played in Amur for the last seasons. The SKA coaching staff drew attention to him after the last championship: Byvaltsev scored 19 goals and 24 assists in 56 matches.

Fans will also be disappointed, because in the 2018-2019 season, Sergey Shirokov leaves the HC, who moves to Avangard Omsk. Ilya Kovalchuk and Vyacheslav Voinov decided to continue their careers in the NHL. Vadim Shipachev has signed a contract with Dynamo Moscow.

In the 2018-2019 season, the following players will lead the team in attack.

Fans hope that the change in the coaching staff and among the players will give their idols a victory in the current tournament.

The composition of SKA for 2017-2018 has changed slightly. The team was forced to resort to new transfers, since two main attackers from the first link left in the off-season: Vadim Shipachev and Evgeny Dadonov. The first of them will continue his career in Vegas, and the second in Florida (both clubs from). The remaining losses in the face of two spare goalkeepers, forward Moses and defender Yudin will not affect the game of the army team.

As you know, in hockey, the goalkeeper is half the team. The result of the matches largely depends on the goalkeeper's performance, so the composition of the main goalkeepers of SKA remained unchanged. In the 2017-2018 season, St. Petersburg will have to reflect the puck:

  • Mikka Koskinen;
  • Igor Shesterkin;
  • Konstantin Volkov.

Obviously, the place of the main keeper belongs to the young Russian Igor Shesterkin. He played 39 games last season with an impressive 93.7% save percentage. His replacement Finn Mikka Koskinen played 23 games in the regular season with a figure of 91.6%. The position of the third goalkeeper, which SKA only needs to complete the squad, belongs to Konstantin Volkov. Usually the reserve goalkeeper is allowed to play no more than 1-2 games. For example, Evgeny Ivannikov, who moved to Lada, defended the gates of the army team only once last season.

defensive line

Contracts with the club in the offseason extended the vast majority of hockey players. The composition of SKA for 2017-2018 in defense is as follows:

  • Artem Zub;
  • Dinar Khafizullin;
  • Roman Rukavishnikov;
  • Patrick Hersley;
  • David Rundblad;
  • Vyacheslav Voynov;
  • Andrey Zubarev;
  • Egor Yakovlev;
  • Vladislav Gavrikov;
  • Egor Rykov;
  • Maxim Chudinov;
  • Anton Belov.

Good performance in the past marked the defenders of the first two links. Vyacheslav Voinov scored 37 points in the goal + pass system, Anton Belov - 27, Yegor Yakovlev - 21. Obviously, the army team will not experience problems with supporting the attack during the match and when playing extra. In addition, when defending their own goals, the defenders show a good game, because last season 112 goals were missed in 60 fights (less than 2 per match). Only CSKA Moscow, which took the puck out of its own net 104 times, can boast of a smaller indicator.

In general, the SKA defense does not need to be strengthened: here are some of the best hockey players in the world who know their stuff and can improve in the playoff series. The team's head coach Oleg Znark has a huge choice, so it is possible that a number of young players will go to the SKA-Neva farm club, which plays in the VHL.

attack line

After the departure of Shipachyov and Dadonov, a gap appeared in the attack of the first and second links. A number of new players are called upon to fill the attacking potential of the team. In the summer transfer window, the SKA roster for the 2017-2018 season was replenished with: Viktor Komarov (Lada), Danila Kvartalnov (CSKA), Sergey Kalinin (Toronto, NHL), Maxim Karpov (Dynamo Moscow) ). Also on offense will be:

  • Jarno Koskeranta;
  • Ilya Kovalchuk (captain);
  • Viktor Tikhonov;
  • Arkhip Nikolenko;
  • Sergey Plotnikov;
  • Ilya Kablukov;
  • Evgeny Ketov;
  • Sergei Shirokov;
  • Nikolay Prokhorkin;
  • Alexander Dergachev;
  • Alexander Khokhlachev;
  • Alexander Barabanov;
  • Nikita Gusev.

Last season, SKA became the record holder for goals scored: the team hit the opponents' goal 252 times. To feel the difference, let's look at the numbers of the closest pursuer of the army team in this component - Metallurg Magnitogorsk had only 199 goals for the season. The team's top scorer was Ilya Kovalchuk (32 goals), followed by Dadonov (30 goals) and Shipachev (26 goals). Despite the departure of two of the best strikers, the attacking potential of St. Petersburg remained one of the most powerful in the league.

Thus, the composition of SKA in 2017-2018 did not weaken compared to the previous draw. The club still has a pool of talented stickmasters ready to fight for the highest places. The main goal of the "soldiers" from the banks of the Neva, of course, will be the Gagarin Cup, for the conquest of which they will make every effort.
