I beat around the bush for a long time until I took it in installments. I took it blindly, there are very few reviews. I thought the sound would be bad and mentally prepared myself for such a development of events, but when I turned it on I realized that the sound was good for such equipment. You don’t have to worry about it and listen at a relatively low volume like a regular music center, but in this case it’s designed for modern dance music - that’s its element. pumps the house well, taking it to an apartment is like taking a full-fledged SUV and driving on dry asphalt in the summer. As I already said, the sound is clear, at minimum volume there is a slight hiss from the tweeters and a little cooler can be heard. One high-frequency speaker is not covered by the grill; if there are children, they will definitely poke a finger into it. The lighting is also pleasing, it looks impressive, and like the center itself, there is no feeling of Chineseness. live speaker sizes of course...

    • It is so powerful that windows rattle and furniture moves across the floor. The giant 45cm subwoofer driver pumps out unreal soft bass, generating enormous sound pressure. The system easily creates the feeling of concert sound. Very pleasant soft bass, deep, uterine, which you feel with your whole body. In this regard, the LG9940 is simply a gorgeous unit for the money. The housing of the speakers and buffers is made of wood. I really like how the overall sound is balanced. There is no “beat” and unpleasant harshness in the bass, typical of competitors. Compared with similar SONY and Panasonic systems. LG is the best of them, has the largest size subwoofer speakers, which justify themselves. There are, of course, issues with sound detail, but the unit does not pretend to be a studio acoustic. The main task of the system is to produce a powerful megasound and here it has no equal. I sincerely recommend it. I don’t take any toys like DJ turntables, effects and color music into account at all. For me, all this is pampering, but beautiful. The main thing worth taking is the chic “bottoms”. Excellent bright screen with large symbols and simple controls. It is convenient for transportation that the columns are divided in half.
    Flaws
No headphone output; no linear audio output; only one microphone input; the media player supports only a limited number of formats; the NTFS file system is not supported (although the factory stated that hard drives up to 2 TB can be connected, but what kind of drive will have FAT?!)

I've been looking for a similar unit for half a year, but settled on this model, I'm happy as a boa constrictor! Take it, you won't regret the money spent!
The best place for him is in a private home!
    I'll do a review later!
P.S. Glue the dishes that you do not use with double-sided tape)))

This device is for a separate private home. It’s not worth taking for an apartment, because your neighbors won’t let you turn the volume up even to a quarter. A house of 150 sq.m pumps up 100%. This mid and top are livelier than the 9740's. I compared it live in the store. At home, after some digging, I transferred my old 100W Sony, C90 and Yamaha 250W subwoofer. The lows are felt even at low volumes. The groove is deep without cracking or choking. The body feels as if someone is doing a heart massage. Force! Now I have parties at my house every weekend, my friends stay away from me. I abandoned my hi-fi 5.1 Yamaha set. Youth is back!!!

Powerful and huge, bought for a big house!, all the guests are shocked!, taking selfies))) played for days at full power (thank God there are no neighbors)))) never overheated

the bass would be softer and the tweeters more powerful

Overall the best combination of price, quality and DB!
I don’t know why I bought it, but I have never regretted it))) 2. In fact, the sound quality is at a fairly average level, if not lower. The bass is good, I didn’t find any mid frequencies or highs, no matter how I set it up, no matter what mode included.

If you're thinking of hosting a large party for dozens of people with just one speaker, then you should take a closer look at the LG X-Boom FH6.

    Appearance, delivery set

The dimensions of the LG X-Boom FH6 are 388x818x318 mm and the weight is 16.8 kg. Just looking at such a modest list of characteristics, you can be sure that the LG X-Boom FH6 should sound pretty good. Because weight is good. Weight is reliable.

On the front panel of the LG X-Boom FH6 there are two pairs of speakers covered with a metal grill: a total of two 8-inch subwoofers and two tweeters. The total power of the audio system is 600 W. We would say that this is one of the most powerful minisystems, if not for another model from LG, the X-Boom OM7560. Its output power is 1,000 W. Not a bad idea for a party.

As we said above, the LG X-Boom FH6 can be laid on its side. To do this, it has additional legs on the right panel. In this position of the column, part of its controls will be on top, on the plastic edge. The first part of the keys is assembled here. Among them: playback and volume control buttons, a speaker mode switch (Bluetooth, USB, AUX, FM radio) and a Power button. There are also two 6.5 mm microphone jacks. The LG X-Boom FH6 speaker not only supports the karaoke function and allows you to sing a duet, but can also independently cut a voice from a song and turn it into a “backing track”.

There is absolutely nothing interesting on the side panels of the LG X-Boom FH6, but on the back panel you can see ventilation holes, behind which there is a small (and fairly quiet) fan. And also a niche with connectors. It contains AUX jacks of the “tulip” type for connecting the left and right audio channels, as well as a proprietary connector for connecting a radio antenna. Unfortunately, the speaker did not have the usual 3.5 mm aux.

On the top panel of the LG X-Boom FH6 there is an electronic DJ turntable, a USB port for a flash drive with music, as well as other buttons.

Using the turntable, you can add a “scratch” effect to music; it is active by default. There is a DJ Effect key to select other effects (Flanger, Phaser, Wah and Delay). The LG X-Boom FH6 also has three sound effects that can be launched by pressing other buttons located under the turntable. These are the music effects Club, Drum and the third, custom, which can be configured manually using the application. Simply put, any short melody can play its role.

Almost all other buttons located above the turntable will become active only when a microphone is connected. There are only two exceptions: the equalizer and the Bluetooth start button. Using this protocol, you can connect up to three devices to the speaker and play music directly from them. You can also put together a shared playlist of songs that can be stored on two or three smartphones or tablets. So far, only support for Android OS has been announced.

In addition to your smartphone, you can use the included remote control to control the speaker. The remote control completely duplicates both all the LG X-Boom FH6 keys and the application that can be installed on your smartphone. Unless he can't transfer music to the device.

As we wrote above, the LG X-Boom FH6 is great for providing musical accompaniment to a party. And in addition to sound, such a speaker can also provide color music. To do this, its two large speakers are equipped with backlighting with 64 combinations. The backlight can be turned on and configured using the keys of the speaker itself, or using the remote control or smartphone. The light can flash either in response to music or just like that - depending on the user’s preferences.

By the way, the speaker does not have its own battery; it can only operate from a regular 220 volt network. Therefore, trips to nature with the LG X-Boom FH6 are unlikely. Except if there is a working outlet or generator at the destination.

    Music Flow Bluetooth app

As we have already said, you can control the speaker using your smartphone; the free Music Flow Bluetooth application is available for this. At the time of writing, it is only available for Android devices.

This application has quite a lot of advantages. The main advantage is the ability to configure the column flexibly and simply. Setting up the LG X-Boom FH6 from a smartphone is much easier than using its keys or remote control. You can also use the on-screen turntable with Music Flow Bluetooth and add DJ effects to it. And of course, transfer music to the LG X-Boom FH6.

    Testing

We started testing with neoclassical music, playing the Tubular Beats album from Mike Oldfield on it. For some reason, the manufacturer did not indicate the frequency range of the LG X-Boom FH6, so testing promises to be interesting.

LG X-Boom FH6 coped with the task perfectly: all instruments were heard clearly and clearly. Thus, in the compositions Let Here Be Light and Northstar, the guitars were clearly audible and distinguishable against the background of electronic music. And in the tracks Moonlight Shadow and To France, the speaker did an excellent job with Maggie Reilly's vocals.

Now let's complicate the task and add low frequencies. In the track Rolling Stones - Anybody Seen My Baby, we heard very pleasant bass, and during the drum parts, the sound of the cymbals did not turn into a mess of high frequencies. Playing Metallica's new song, Hardwired, also went very well. When the volume was increased, the LG X-Boom FH6 did not start to wheeze and did its job perfectly.

Now let's move on to testing the voice cutting system for karaoke. Unfortunately, we can only give this function five 5 points out of 10. Of course, the LG X-Boom FH6 cut out voices from songs without any problems, but the rest of the audio path suffered greatly. For example, the sound of low, mid or high frequencies was distorted, depending on the type of voice of the performer. Of course, you can use this function; in the case of karaoke, it is better to take care of an external phonogram.

As for volume, here too the LG X-Boom FH6 performed excellently. When listening to music at home, it became loud even at a sound level of 20%. This indicates a good volume reserve in the mini-system - its power is sufficient for a large party.

    Conclusion

LG X-Boom FH6 is perhaps the most outstanding mini-system that came into our test laboratory. It stands out, of course, due to its dimensions: about one meter in height and weight about 17 kg - this is not a joke, everything here is very serious. Most likely, this speaker is not even for an apartment. Really, have pity on your neighbors :). Its place is in the large hall of a country house, where it will fully reveal its potential and will not make all the Chinese alarms in the yard beep.

I was pleased with the sound of the LG X-Boom FH6. Firstly, thanks to its immodest dimensions, the speaker was equipped with serious speakers, their total power is 600 W. This is not the most powerful speaker in the LG family, but for the vast majority of tasks that the LG X-Boom FH6 may encounter, this volume reserve is enough. In addition, this speaker can work in pairs - from two LG X-Boom FH6 it will be possible to assemble a single audio system using the Bluetooth protocol.

The only thing we had complaints about was the algorithm for cutting out voices from songs. It will, of course, cope with its main task without problems, but at the same time the song will sound far different from how it would have been in plywood or a backing track. Therefore, for karaoke it is better to use a separate sound source. Fortunately, the speaker has an analog audio input. As for the cost, at the time of writing this article, the average price of the LG X-Boom FH6 is about 20,000 rubles. For the average person, this is expensive, but if we consider this device from the point of view of an audiophile, the price may not seem so high.

Dance more fun (LG X-Boom CM9940 Audio System)

LG introduced a new “disco” audio system of the X-Boom family - model CM9940 (we previously wrote about the stereo system). The solution features even greater power (3200 Watts) and an expanded range of functions for playing music from various sources and applying DJ effects.

    Concept, design

The audio system consists of several parts: a main control center (with a CD drive, DJ “controllers”, LED screen), a pair of subwoofers (with a backlight system) and a pair of speakers (they can be placed on the subs or separately).

The system makes a strong impression with its stylish, brutal appearance and provocative dimensions. You can’t put such a 130 kg “mini-system” in the kitchen... But in a spacious gym, on the large veranda of a private country house or in some respectable nightclub - it’s right at home.

    DJ stuff

At first glance, it may seem that the X-Boom is equipped with a built-in two-channel DJ turntable for mixing tracks in real time. But, in fact, this is just stylization. You can create a playlist of many tracks, but you can only play one song at a time. However, the system allows you to enliven the set with various effects: scratch imitation, voice “chants”, beatbox... - the left “wheel” and special buttons (like a professional sampler) will help. In turn, the right “pinwheel” is simply a convenient tool for navigation search and making various settings (time, for example). Two separate sliders (they are similar to those that allow you to control the volume of mixed tracks on a professional DJ console) are actually controls for low-frequency and high-frequency tones. However, they can also be used as another tool for amateur DJing.

But a really very useful and necessary disco function is the ability to switch between stereo and mono playback - there is a separate button. Options for searching files, creating a playlist, operating with various sources are also excellent. The Auto DJ function automatically eliminates gaps between songs - one song smoothly transitions into another without any pauses at all.

The X-Flash light music is especially admirable - the flashes on the subwoofer housings blink in time (the brightness can be adjusted). The red LED illumination of the speakers, which also changes depending on the rhythm of the music, will help create the right mood for fun and dancing.

    Connections

There are two sockets on the front panel of the head unit: a 3.5-mini jack line audio input and a microphone input. Unfortunately, there is no headphone output. There are two RCA stereo inputs on the rear panel - you can connect two stereo sources. Two USB ports allow you to connect external drives, play and record music files. It is possible to wirelessly stream audio from mobile devices (via Bluetooth). There is an antenna input - you can listen to FM radio.

    Sound

The solution does an excellent job of creating groovy drive and a club atmosphere. Two external subwoofers are just fire! With all its remarkable power, the system produces surprisingly clear and intelligible sound, which (with 3.2 kW of power) is enough for everyone! Yes, this is not the sound that thoughtful music lovers are used to hearing, ready to sit exactly in the center between the speakers for several hours in a row in order to “taste” all the subtle nuances of instrumental passages. Yes, LG X-Boom plays easier. But for dancing until the morning in a large hall or in an open space - more than enough. If desired, the sound characteristics can be adjusted to taste using the automatic or custom equalizer, as well as the Bass Blast bass boost function.

    LG X-Boom CM9940:

    • Heavy-duty (3.2 kW) audio system for sounding spacious dance spaces with two remote 800 Watt subwoofers
    • Two 18" (45cm) subwoofers + two satellite speakers with four LF/MF speakers and horn-style tweeters
    • Smart DJ 2.0 and DJ PRO bring your set to life with a variety of effects
    • Ability to play music from a variety of sources: CDs, USB drives, external audio devices, laptop smartphone; voice amplification from microphone
    • Stylish, youth design; built-in X-Flash light and music system.
    Estimated cost, rub: 49,990

Technical characteristics of LG X-Boom CM9940:

    Sound power: 3.2 kW (2 x 800 Watts + 2 x 800 Watts)
    Playback: CD/-R/-RW; MP3, WMA
    Connections: 2 x AUX (RCA-stereo), 2 x USB, 3.5-minijack (input), microphone input, FM antenna
    Dimensions (head unit): 520 x 255 x 423 mm
    Dimensions (speaker / subwoofer): 619 x 454 x 412 / 633 x 597 x 502 mm
    Weight (head unit): 8.7 kg
    Weight (AC+ subwoofers): 2 x 27.5 kg + 2 x 33 kg.

    Conclusion

    Design - 9
    Functions - 8
    Ergonomics - 9
    Sound - 8.5
    Price - 9

Professional DJs, of course, will smile at the “DJ functions” available on the LG X-Boom CM9940, which are original, entertaining and cool in their own way, but nothing more. But the power and sound quality here are truly impressive. Rocks! Individual frequency layers are clearly distinguishable - the system gives not just a rush of buzzing energy, but actually plays. Thanks to the presence of several audio inputs, professional DJs and novice dance leaders can easily connect an external mixing and/or DJ console, flash drives, smartphone, laptop and other sound sources to the X-Boom CM9940 and fill a large space (club, gym, beach) with rhythmic and clear sound , clearing, lawn in front of a country house...). Despite all the functional “sophistication” of the system, I was disappointed by the lack of a banal audio output for connecting headphones. However, in general, the new product evokes sincere respect for its extraordinary boldness, brightness and volume.

Pros: spectacular design; powerful, danceable sound; original DJ functions; flexible options for connecting external sources and streaming audio streams from mobile devices.

Minuses: no headphone output; no linear audio output; only one microphone input; The media player only supports a limited number of formats.
