All gate automation manufacturers have different algorithms for programming remote controls, so there is no single recipe. First of all, a little educational program.

In systems from Came, FAAC, Nice, one remote control is written to the drive receiver, and then the required number of other key fobs is copied from it. If you try to record the next remote control into the receiver, the first remote control and all remote controls recorded from it will stop working. In cases where you have lost your old remote control, there is no need to delete it from memory - it will be erased itself when you write a new one to the receiver. A huge advantage of such systems is convenience - there is no need to open the cover of the electric drive every time if there is a need to record another remote control. But this system is very vulnerable - I only need to hold your remote control in my hands for 10 seconds to steal a signal to my remote control. And this opens the gates to almost everyone who held your remote control (or the remote control of your employees) in their hands. Let’s say you decide to restrict access to a parking lot, install a barrier and give tenants 20 Came remote controls (equal to the number of parking spaces). But after a couple of weeks there is not enough parking space again. Why? Because employees give each other remote controls for copying, and several times more of them appeared than were issued. You can read how to do this below.

What is the way out? Install a system from Professional (GANT, China) or Doorhan (Dorkhan, Russia). The main difference between such systems is that the signal from each remote control is recorded individually in the receiver. The downside is the limitation on the number of remote controls that can be recorded in the receiver (depending on the model, from 25 to 128 pieces) and the need to open the cover of the drive or receiver each time to record the next remote control. But such a system will not allow clones to be multiplied on the sly. Recommended for businesses and parking lots with a large number of users. You can’t trust all your employee-users without exception, can you? Another advantage is the fact that the remote controls from these manufacturers are also two to three times cheaper than Italian ones.

If you need to record additional remote controls, repeat this operation. It should be noted that a limited number of remote controls are recorded in the receiver’s memory (depending on the memory capacity of the microcircuit, the number of recorded remote controls can range from 25 to 128 pieces).

To remove all key fobs, you must hold down the “LEARN” button for 8 seconds. All key fobs will be erased from memory.

You must press and hold the PROG (CH1) button on the control unit. The LED indicator starts flashing (left figure). Press the required button on the key fob. To record the FAAC remote control into the electric drive receiver, you must simultaneously press two buttons P1 and P2 on the control panel and release them when the indicator on the remote control flashes (after 1-2 seconds). Then press and hold the button on the receiver board - the indicator on the board should blink.


While the remote control indicator is flashing, you must press on the gate control panel the button that needs to be programmed to control the gate leaf. Before releasing the receiver button, make sure that the diode is on for about 2 seconds (to confirm that the code is saved). Now release the button on the remote control and receiver. The remote control is recorded.


But if you want to record more than one remote control, do not try to repeat this operation, since the next remote control (new) will be recorded in the receiver, and the previous one will be deleted. It is necessary to carry out an operation to copy the remote control. See below for how to do this.

On the main remote control (recorded to the receiver), press and hold two buttons P1 and P2 at the same time, release them when the indicator on the remote control flashes (after 1-2 seconds).


Then place the copied (new) remote control opposite the programmed one as shown in the picture above. Before starting programming, it is recommended to clear the receiver’s memory of previously recorded remote control codes. To do this, after turning on the power, hold down the record button on the remote control for 10 seconds. The LED will blink for 10 seconds, then go out for 2 seconds and blink twice again to confirm that the stored remote control codes have been erased.

To record the remote control into the receiver, press and hold the remote control recording button on the radio receiver board for 3 seconds - the LED1 indicator on the receiver will light up. After the codes of all buttons are written down, it is better to close the program through the “exit” or “cross” in the upper right corner - the information is saved when closing. The program may close with an error, resulting in the loss of the last entered data.

Turn on the device you will be controlling. Brand code search is only supported on older TVs, DVD players, VCRs and satellite receivers.   • Release both buttons.

    Enter the brand code using the numeric keypad on the remote. Keep the remote control pointed at the device while entering the code.

    • If the code is entered correctly, the power button will blink once and remain lit.
    • If the code is entered incorrectly, the power button will blink four times and then turn off. In this case, repeat the described process. Make sure you are entering the correct brand code and that your device supports it.
  • Press the power button. Each time you press the power button, the next code (from the list of brand codes) is sent to the device. The power button will blink. Continue pressing the power button until the device turns off. This means you have found the correct code.

    • If you have entered all the brand codes from the list, the Power button will blink four times and then turn off. In this case, use another method described in this article.
  • Press and release the Stop ■ button. This will store the code in the remote and assign it to the button corresponding to the device that is turned on (that is, the button you pressed previously). If you do not click the Stop ■ button, the code will not be saved and you will have to start the process again.

    Test the operation of the remote control by turning on the corresponding device and controlling it using the remote control. If you can't control most of your device's features, try another method described in this article.

    Searching for codes manually

      Turn on the device you will be controlling (TV, DVD/Bluray player, stereo system, etc.). The device must support the use of a remote control.

      • The number of functions controlled from the universal remote control depends on the device.
    1. Press and hold the button on the remote control that corresponds to the turned on device. For example, if you are programming a remote control to control a TV, hold down the “TV” button. If there is no button corresponding to the switched on device on the remote control, press the “AUX” button.

      • After a few moments, the power button will light up. Continue holding down the device button on the remote.
      • Keep the remote pointed at the device.
    2. Press and hold the power button while continuing to hold down the device button on the remote. The power button will turn off. Continue holding down both keys for three seconds. The power button will light up again.

      Release both buttons. The power button light should be lit. If this is not the case, repeat the steps described.
